Title: Pictorial instructions for fun braids! Post by Tara on Oct 13th, 2009 at 12:39pm
When I learn a braid I really need to see how it's done, so I was scouring the internet, and here are some good ones I found.
Box & Fish bone braids: http://www.newfordtransit.co.uk/longhair/hairstyles.htm Oh! Here's a good one too, with Fish bone, Knot, and Twist braids: http://www.misschicgeek.com/images/freepeople_3braids.jpg Yet another Fish Bone braid: http://2good2lose.com/braid-fishtail.shtml French: (I still can't french braid my own hair >.<) http://2good2lose.com/braid-french.shtml French "Over" Braid: http://2good2lose.com/braid-frenchover.shtml Rope Braid: http://2good2lose.com/braid-rope.shtml and a French rope Braid: http://2good2lose.com/braid-frenchrope.shtml |

Great links Tara, thanks! On the French Rope, it looks like she's French braiding as usual, but twisting the strands as she goes so that it looks like a rope. |

Good information, pictures that actually make sense ;)
I actually own the book that the first example is in. Lots of information on all aspects of hair care also. |

ooooh, I see! I didn't realize while I was at that site the first time, that it was also a book. Awesome! I need to get it now! :D
Well the reason I was looking at braids is because I am going to a wedding this weekend and I want to do something new with my hair. It's going to be outside in the cold which my hair is not used to, so I can't wear it down, and I'm sick of the same old buns. Anyone have any ideas? Also, has anyone ever done a rope braid on their hair when wet and then taken it down? I'm curious what it would look like, if it's wavy or curly or just crazy. Hopefully I can get some new pics of my hair up soon >_< *EDIT* This isn't a braid, but does anyone know how to do THIS? http://www.mynewhair.info/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/prom-updo-061.jpg |

Think your hair might be able to handle this? :D
http://www.dreamweaverbraiding.com/braids/Arwen.htm That site also has a lot of other great looking braids. I've always been partial to crown braids, myself. |

that is GORGEOUS! My hair could handle it, but I'm not sure my sister could handle doing it for me ^_^
That site has so many lovely braids! Thanks! I <3 braids. |

This pic is blurry and small, but this is the rope braid! It's pretty easy and I think I love it! I apply a little bit of gel all over the outside once I'm finished and it really helps keep the fly-aways down.
