Hi everyone, my name's Mindy and I'm from NC.  I've been viewing this forum for a while but just registered...this is one of the best sites for long hair I've ever seen (I was directed here from a mention in Lucky mag, which is awesome!).  My hair used to be well past my rear, but due to damage and split ends I've had it cut considerably, not it's a little past my shoulder blades.  I love my long hair but it's still damaged from about my crown to the end from at home coloring (which is the devil I tell you lol).  I'm looking for ways to keep my hair healthy as well as repair the damage without losing too much length...and I've already got a bunch of good ideas from here...so thanks!!!!  It's still a work in progress though :( and it's even more distressing because before I started coloring I had beautiful, long, natural, shiny, healthy hair.  I feel like an idiot for ruining it  :-[

I do have a question though, and I'm sorry because I'm sure it's been answered I just can't find it...I see the following type of abbreviation on a bunch of members profiles

20"/29.5"/
33" 1c/C/iii

What does this mean?  I know it's referring to length and hair type (I think), but I can't figure out the specifics.

The abbreviations are a hair typing system invented by (I believe) a lady named Fia who is a member of longhairloom.com (also another good long hair site).  Here's the page:
