Title: HELP! products and damage?
Post by daynebrenna12 on Feb 8th, 2009 at 7:37pm
ok so about a year ago i killed my hair coloring and stripping and coloring over and over. ive been growing it and now just about the bottom 5 inches are colored/damaged. lately ive been getting frequent big trims to get rid of that hair and it was doing good. i used some nexxus products last night and now those last inches feel horrible. im going to get them all cut off, so my hair is at my shoulders :(. my questions are the nexxus products going to dry out my hair? and why did they suddenly feel bad after using them? i use a variety of products so i dont think it was just changing the product.

If your hair is feeling "crunchy", it could be the Nexus products have too much protien in them for your hair.  A clarifying shampoo or even a vinegar rinse should help with that.  Make sure you deep condition the damaged portions of your hair.

Hi!  Nexxus products should not dry out your hair.  Maybe depending where you live also contributes to the way your hair is feeling.
I suggest you do a deep conditioning treatment to see if it helps.  You can either buy a good deep conditioner or visit our section on hair recipes.  There are many of them there.
HTH :)

thanks you guys. it turned out that the nexxus stuff gave me a really bad protein bulidup, my stylist said it was one of the worst she had seen. i cut, clarified, and changed products. my hair is soft and shiny again.
