Title: Today is a day for history
Post by bikerbraid on Jan 20th, 2009 at 3:50pm
Regardless of your politcal views and/or party affliations, I think we all have to admit that today is a day to go into the history books.  The swearing in of the first African-American president.  I hope he is able to handle the pressure of the job and move this country in the right direction.

After 8 years of "the shrub", our new president has his work cut out for him! Things can't change overnight but hopefully common sense will prevail.
My daughter and son-in-law are in DC now, so I am looking forward to hearing first person details and seeing the pics. No sure how close they were to things. Will hear all about it when they get back home.

While I did not vote for him, I will now do my darnedest to support Mr. Obama.  I can't help but like the man; he reminds me so much of JFK.  Very charming, poised, good looking.  I'm very proud of America for finally, finally electing an African American to the presidency; let's hope Mr. Obama can turn us around.  And next...a woman in the president's chair?   8-)

I was very moved by the inauguration and found myself praying for President Obama,  and for the highest and best good of everyone.  It surprised me, how emotional I was.

We watched the inauguration and parade, and I enjoyed them both.  I so love that family. :) I was happy but not emotional.  I got that all out of my system after the election.

I voted for him.  However, I've always voted demorcrat and would've voted for Hillary if she were the candidate.  In my opinion, their views are extremely similar except I believe her to be more liberal.  Anyway, I believe him to be up to task.  Hopefully he will be. :)
