Knowing that I am slowly incorporating organic products in to my life, my mother got me two boxes of Burt's Bees products for Christmas! It's amazing, I feel like I'm in an organic spa every time I shower!
While the products aren't always 100% natural (some are), they are all 95% and above, and are all paraben-free.

One of the best products I've used so far (pertaining to hair), is the Sugarbeet and Grapefruit shampoo and conditioner. Not only does it smell amazing, but it makes your hair super shiny and doesn't dry it out. Another really good product is the Miracle Salve. Since I live in a place with very cold winters and unpredictable weather, this is awesome. It's a cream that you put on your hands before you go outside to protect your skin. The coolest thing is that it also doubles to control frizzes and fly-aways, and protects the ends of your hair during styling or harsh weather, and it doesn't make it greasy or anything! I -used it two days in a row, didn't wash my hair, and it looked just as nice as if I had washed it that day.

My favorite product so far, although it isn't for hair, is an orange peel facial cleanser. It is a thick orange gel, and it smells incredible. Best of all, it leaves your face so soft that you don't have to use lotion afterwards (which makes my face greasy), and it doesn't leave your skin tight and parched after use like other cleansers can.

Has anyone else used Burt's Bees? What do you think? What are your favorites? I would highly recommend it to everyone! As a bonus (as if awesome, organic products weren't enough!), all the packaging is recyclable!

Is this a brand that would be well known to most people in the U.S.?  How accessible is it and what's the general price range?

I've been using various Burt's Bees products for about 2 years now. I getting into their Radiance line. You're right the orange peel cleanser is quite good. I found their citrus scrub to be too irritating for my dry skin.  :P However I will be getting their green clay mask which looks promising. Their new Milk and Shea Butter line is good. However as  someone with insanely dry skin (even when it's 90° with 90% humidity  :P) their lotions aren't thick enough for me. I used that shampoo and conditioner you spoke of my hair was still insanely dry and frizzy but I recently discovered that I need cones in my hair products so that was probably why. I love their Avocado Butter Hair Treatment it's awesome. I use it wet and dry it smells like a tropical fruit salad and my hair loves it. My favorite hand cream is their Milk and Almond one it smells so good and is the only thing that has worked on my insanely dry hands.  :P However I am looking into trying their new hand and foot creams that come in tubes, digging things out of jars annoys me.  ::) Glad you like them overall I'd say their pretty good stuff, especially if your skin and hair aren't as picky as mine.  ;D

Never tried any of their hair products and I probably never will. Natural products are typically loaded with oils, which are bad for my skin/hair type. Plus, they're way expensive.

Throughout the month, I've gotten trial sized Burt's Bees products from an advent calendar and found them all to be quite greasy. The pomegranate lip blam smells weird and breaks me out. :P I do use the hand salve and cuticle creme on occasion, but I have to be very careful not to let them come into contact with anything other than what they're designed for...which usually means wearing gloves.

Anywho, definitely not worth the price for someone like me, but if they work for you, that's great.

I've not had any luck with their hair products, but I love the peppermint foot cream!!! ;D  The cuticle cream works quite well for me as well.

Ah!  Price is an issue here and not just because of some so called financial crisis.  It's just a cronic financial state in my life. ;D  Oriflame claims to be organic and the Yves Rocher bath products I use claim to contain 97% organic ingredients and they're both affordable brands so I'll stick with them.  Haven't tried their hair products though because from what I can read, they don't really have hair products that suit my hair type.  

If Burt's products are as long lasting pr. bottle as my PurePact leave-in conditioner, then they might be worth the price, even considering shipping costs if I stock up 1-2 times a year and have enough to last me 6+ months.  I'm math and number dyslexic so I'd have to get hub to calculate the costs for me and tell me if there are any advantages to shifting brands.

Aw, Midnight Angel, it's a shame that the lip balm doesn't work for you, it's the best lip balm I've found for a while!
I think it's interesting that the products don't work for a lot of you. I have really sensitive skin, and I have a type of eczema on my hands/feet called dyshidrosis. Because of this, I can't use a lot of lotions because of dyes, fragrances, etc. Burt's is one of the only brands that doesn't irritate my skin!

And yeah, they are a bit pricey. That's why I was so glad I got so much for Christmas!  ;D

I gave Burts Bee a shot a while back.  The hair products did nothing for me.  I found the hand lotion and cutical creme to be nice but at the prices these products go for I passed on them.  For all natural skin care I like Kiss My Face. :)

Wow well I'm glad it works for most of you...I tried the Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet shampoo and it left my hair really greasy and tangled. Also the Peach & Willow bark scrub left my face oily. BUT I do like their chapstick. :]

I've noticed that these shampoos don't lather well! did you find that too?

Hmm I'm trying to remember...yeah they didn't lather that well, but they did lather a little bit. My hair even felt stiff as I was shampooing it. 0_o

i love burt's bees' night cream and face wash for my skin. i have that lovely combo of dry skin and some breakouts too. so the stuff for sensitive skin works best for me.
i haven't had as much luck with their hair products, although i liked them at first but they are pricey and can build up on my hair. for hair stuff that is still natural, i've switched to jason.

I recently bought Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme.  It smells like heaven!!  I was rubbing some into my cuticles just now (which are chronically dry and shredded) and I looked to see what ingredients are in it.  

Sweet almond oil, beeswax, lemon oil, cocoa butter, tocopheryl acetate (Vit. E), candelilla wax, sunflower oil, rosemary leaf oil, tocopherol (Vit.E), beta carotene, vegetable oil.  

I realized that I've seen a lot of those ingredients on these boards and wondered if anyone had ever tried something like this to oil their hair?  Mine's not long enough to oil yet, so I haven't tried anything and don't know what would work for me.  Just a curious thought.  

The oils are used in hair products, but the beeswax is the one item I would not want to put on my hair.  (I too love their cuticle cream!! )

I got my sample in the mail (finally) I was excited to get it, but when I read the ingredients list I was dissapointed, it's full of bad stuff :(  I will try to remember to post the ingredients when I am at home, but it had 'cones :'(
