Yee-hah, I trimmed my own hair following fayes method for the V shaped trim which I have I only trimmed about 1\4" that's all it really needed, without sacrificing any of my precious length. It already looks healthier and its actually even. My hands were shaking like crazy, but my method on the farm is cowgirl up. So I just went for it. Who needs a salon anymore? I don't!!! I would recommend Fayes method to anyone. If I could do it...anyone can. Gotta put this on the calander now ladies. Thanks for listening.

ooo! I have been wanting to trim my own hair because it really needs it, but I don't trust anyone but my BF anywhere near my hair with scissors O.O But he's been really busy lately so I want to do it myself. i did manage to trim a teensy bit myself but I need more trimmed and I was too scared I'd go crazy if I trimmed any more. Where can I find the "V" method? I'll poke around the site and see if I can find it, but if I don't, do you have a link to the thread? Thanks!

Sorry I don't have the link, but a very easy way to find it is go do a google search type in fayes method for trimming your own hair and it will come right up. It was so easy. You will be amazed. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Happy trimming !!!

Yes, this works pretty well. Been using it for a year or so.

I printed it out and have it taped inside the left hand mirror (of three) in the medicine cabinet. That way it's always available to refer to.

That's cool. 8-) I've been wanting to try that out myself but I'm too chicken. :-[ But I probably will sooner or later. It's a good thing to figure out seeing as my mother won't always be around to cut my hair, and I'm certainly not going to pay for a trim, and I still don't know how I feel about letting a guy anywhere near my hair with scissors. ;D I suppose I'll force myself one day. But glad to hear it works.
