My mom and I decided to go to dinner the other nite. As I was in line ordering, I suddenly felt hands running thru my hair. I turned around and it was a guy I didnt recognize. It has been over 25yrs since I had last seen him. I had long hair back then too. I guess he thought it would be ok to run his hands thru my hair N O T!!! My mom said the look on my face caught him off guard, and had he not backed up I would have slapped him. He was even with his wife!! Where do people get off on giving themselves permission to touch someone else!! >:(. It made me angry then kinda afraid cuz I didnt know who it was, and what was going on in his mind and where his hands had been. My o My, the idea that he thought he was being cute. I found it offensive.

Major violation of personal space. I hope he learned his lesson! Maybe you could print up a ticket (since you work at the sheriff's dept.) and fine him for man-handling your locks. I hope you've recovered from that experience. Yuck!!!

Just hearing that has me freaked out. :P I'm with Trisha and Isabeau it was rude and wrong on so many levels. And seriously I probably would've kicked him and slapped him. >:( It almost makes me never want to where my hair down in public. :( That has to be some kind of violation.

Thanks,,,, I am over it now. But it was shocking :o none the less. Since I've only seen him once in 25 yrs, I am not gonna try and find him. I wanted to wear my hair down (holiday) and I should be able to wear my hair anyway I chose. It's my hair!!!! I dont ever see short hairs being fondled in public, why long hairs? OkOk, enuf steam being blown off.

Ew.

Perhaps he felt that he had the right since he knew you before. If you parted on good terms with him, that might have just been his way of saying hi again.
But if you did not part on good terms, it would indeed be out of line. Maybe he felt that time had healed any animocity between you. *shrug*

It would be a different story if you didn't know him at all.

thats a lil creepy but i have had the urge to run my fingers thru peoples hair but have resisted would it have been worse if he asked to run his hands thru it what would you have said then ive only gotten nos when ive asked :(
