I saw a couple gals with tailbone length hair at the fair this year!
One was an older lady, her hair was wavy and gray! It looked beautiful!
The other was a younger gal who had dark brown hair, neither wore it up.

I would love my hair to look like that when I get old, just not quite so long, hip length tops. ;)
