Title: Long Hair In The NFL
Post by La Diosa on Mar 27th, 2008 at 3:58pm
I'm not a football fan, but sometimes I will watch a bit when my husband turns on a game.  I have noticed that over the past few years that there are more players wearing long hair. I thought it was pretty cool that I could add football games to my list of long hair sightings.  So, I was a bit disapointed when I read an article about the NFL possibly ruling that players will no longer be able to wear their hair out during games.  Now, they may have to keep it contained under their helmets. :(  I actually think that the long hair makes them look more like warriors and it also gives me a reason to be just a little more interested in football. :D

My hubby is a huge Lions fan and I watch the games with him.  It seems like there is at least one guy on each team with long hair.

I love that guy's hair!!

Yikes. I would want to keep my hair protected from any contact sport!!  :o

Sakina: I like his hair too.  Some guys wear long hair really well.

Angel: Personally, I would want my hair protected too, but I think it's great for them (and for me to watch ::)) if they don't mind. I was watching one time and some guy got his hair pulled by another player, it looked quite painful, I thought his neck was going to snap.

;D  Now you see why I dig the knights at Midieval Times, yes? lol

There's a reason they're called "contact sports," though. Horrendous things happen, and God only knows what someone's hair might be "contacting" in the process.
One of the first things you figure out in wrestling and martial arts, for example, is that anything that is hanging off of you (hair, jewelry, loose clothing, etc.) can be used to your disadvantage!  :o
And let's face it...hair that has 10 tons of huge, dirty, sweaty, muddy athletes jumping all over it and smashing it into the ground won't look good for long.  :P

Yeah, I can understand about the knights of the Midieval Times.  I've never gone, but I totally had a thing for Count Adhemar in a Knights Tale (his looks and costume, not his character). ;D
