Title: Saying good bye to an old friend
Post by Lisabelle on Feb 14th, 2008 at 2:59am
My bunny, Bunnicula, passed to the arms of the goddess this morning at 2:00 a.m  He went very quitely on his bed, he was 14 years old.

A tribute to my Bunny

It was in November 1993 when I found bunny in my backyard.  It was cold and it has been snowing that day.  I was home sick from work and saw bunny from the back window of my house.  I went up to him and he did not run away. A tiny little black ball of fur. He looked hungry so I brought inside and fed him cheerios.  I thought he was so cute and wanted to keep him.  But I thought my husband would freak.  Turns out he loved bunny!  We had such a happy time with him; we had him litter trained so he was never put in a cage.  He would sit with us and beg for food just like a dog.  He used to jump on the sofa for a nice snuggle and seemed to know when we need one.  He was always there for us when we were sad, ever patient when we were not around.  He was the sweetest bunny in the world.  He had a good life with us.  I use to put him on a leash and take him for walks in the garden.  We would play all afternoon in the sun.  Bunny would dig in the grass and eat dandelion flowers.  He would run and play and be so full of joy.   I will remember him as a young bunny whose days were spent in the sun, happy and carefree.  Now he is with Mother Nature and he is no longer crippled or blind but free to romp with the other rabbits in her garden of Summerland.  Good bye my friend, we had such great times together.  I will never forget you.

:'( :'(I'm so sorry for your loss,Lisabelle!  I cried all day when my Bashful passed.  Rainbow's Bridge should be proud and honored to have such a beautiful bunny grace their grasses!

My sympathies to you for your loss.  I know how hard it can be when a favorite pet passes on.  You have your memories - keep them warm in your heart.

What a wonderful tribute to Bunnicula, Lisabelle.  I'm so sorry for your loss, but happy for bunny's freedom from an ailing body.  What a great companion.  I'll miss thinking of him laying on your lap when you read the boards.

Take care of yourself.  (((((hugs)))))  :'( :-*

I am very sorry for your loss :'(

It sounds like he was like a cat and a dog kind of like my wife's youngest cat is more like a dog.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your bunny. Treasure your memories of him, and know that he's not hurting any more. I know that doesn't ease your own pain much, but... At least it's something.

*hug*
