Praise God I didnt get hurt.  I was working here in the church office when two teenage boys 12 -14 years of age, walked by, and one of them kicked in the office window.  I happen to be sitting in the area.  The glass came inside but did not get on me in anyway (my hair was down, no glass in it). I ran outside, called out "HEH" and one of them turned around, but they just casually walked away. Called the police to file report, I was able to give a clothing description, ht - wt?? stuff(church ins may need it).  I called Pastor who was at an out of town Prayer Meeting.  Then, I had to call around to see which church member could come and fix the window bc I couldnt leave until it would besafe.  You cant set the alarm with broken windows.  We have computers, copy machines, etc. expensive items here and I dont want to leave office "open to the public."  So, a church member did come to put a piece of plywood in the window, I got the glass cleaned up.  So on we go. It is unknown to me why people display this kind of behavior.  It just blows me away sometimes.

What does get into some peoples heads?  

We had some burglaries going on in our town and five boys (four teenagers and one twenty year old) were arrested for doing them.

I am glad you are ok physically but I am sure you are still shook up from it.

Oh my!  I'm glad you weren't hurt and the damage was anymore than a broken window.  Having been in charge of our church's building for over 10 years, I know what that your building committee appreciates your doing what needed to be done to ensure the security of the building and its contents.  It's a shame that some people (and not just kids) feel they can do whatever tickles their fancy at the moment with no regard to how it might affect others.  I hope they find the kids and make them pay resitution for the broken window and do community service to teach them that they are a part of the community and they need to treat it with respect.

Thank you all of you.  The new window is now in place, and the church board is considering places bars on the windows.  Too bad that has to take place.  The area of town I live in and where the church is located is known as "The ghetto."  A lot of ugly things go on down here.  Thanks again for your concern and prayers.
