Title: Dumb questions Post by Debr on Jan 17th, 2008 at 8:00pm
Good Afternoon all! I have a dumb question burning to be answered. I have been reading on another forum about going "no cones". So, here is my question. How do I do that? :-? I will be buying shampoo and condish soon--what do I look for? Would I need to be reading the labels on the backs of the bottles? Will it make my hair fluffier? Do you guys think more of my curls/wurls/waves will return? I want a happier scalp and oiling my hair/scalp has helped alot, but I want to take it further.
Thanks Debr |

If the product has an ingredient ending in -cone, don't buy it. I went cone free more than a year ago and my hair is much better for it. I don't know for sure if going cone free made my hair more curly because it was short enough that my curl pattern didn't fully show like it does at my current length. I hope that makes sense!
Good Luck!!! |

It's not a dumb question but yeah, you'll have to read the ingredients and avoid products with any ingredient that ends in cone for example Cyclomethicone or Dimethicone etc.
Your best bet migh be to purchase all natural products which don't use cones. Cones can weigh the hair down which may result in fluffier or wavier hair, but I'm not sure if those results are certain as my hair type is totally different than yours. Although, my hair has definitely gotten fluffier since I've given up shampoos and conditioners that contain them, opting for natural products such as Aubrey Organics and Giovanni. Good luck! :) |
