Title: Staying the course Post by Debr on Nov 1st, 2007 at 9:00pm
Mom measured me at 41 inches this afternoon. I looked at the tape measure and added 13 inches (hair isnt grown there yet) to see where the ends would be at 54 inches. That is roughly 3 inches below my knees. I am currently at the tops of my thighs. I have been wanting knee length hair for soooo long now, but it is soo thick I dont know if I can properly take care of it at that length. I am at this time considering just leaving it at thigh length. What do you guys think? Think I could go ahead and go onto my knees? Or should I stay right where I am? I am still going to take off the last 3 inches to even the hemline and remove the last of the damage. If I take 1 1/2 inches off in Dec and again in March (Morrocco Method) then by that time maybe I'll know what to do.

Congratulations, Debr!! I think I'd stay the course and do the two trims and by then you'll intuitively know what to do.
I also have thick hair and I'm a bit concerned about how I'll handle it at full BSL, let alone waist. Maybe we only worry because it in an unknown. I'm sure we'll both make the right decision for ourselves when it is time to make it. For now, enjoy what you've got, and look forward to your trims as they keep our hair feeling and looking great! I have a trim in January and I know my ends will be wonderful and less tangly after it! |

Just grow until it is no longer comfortable or convenient for you to manage. That's my advice, at least.

::sigh:: :-/ I have a hard time with your situation. My hair is so fine and thin, weight is NOT a factor. Plus my hair has stayed the same length for over a year (classic plus an inch or two). ::end jelousy rant:: ;)
I concur with Sakina - make small trims to keep it healthy and if you feel the weight is too much, take a little more. You don't want your hair to be a negative thing in your life - you want to be able to enjoy it! |
