Title: My hair and also a question! Post by bvkerbear on Aug 20th, 2007 at 4:30pm

Thats my picture. Not the best bc I was moving but oh well. Now the question. Should I get bangs? I have a heart/round shaped face and medium thickness hair. Blonde with highlights. My Mom doesn't want me to get bangs, because she says they'll never look the same as when you first leave the salon. And they'll always be hanging in my eyes. But I want bangs sooooo bad. I'm thinking sides wept bangs. But hey, I could be wrong. Suggestions would be apprecitaed. Thanks! |

Hi and welcome! Just my opinion;no bangs. I've always disliked bangs, but if you really really want them and you think side swept bangs would look good on you.......go for it!! :)

You have very beautiful hair 8-)
I really like the color :) I do not like bangs either and I think most ladies look better without them. Jerry |

You could go either way, bvkerbear. Your hair looks just fine without them, but there wouldn't be much harm in getting them, provided that they were sideswept and long enough.
The type that fall flat across the eyebrows would not flatter your face shape, but long, sideswept bangs would. A word of caution, however: most people with bangs just grow them out eventually anyway. Also, it will take away some of the thickness from your hair, seeing as part of the length in front will need to be cut off to create bangs. And your mother is right that they will get in the way and you will have to keep sweeping them out of your eyes. If none of this bothers you, then I'd say go for it. It's just hair and it grows back. God knows we've all done worse to ours at some point. ;D |

I'm with Angel. Most people with long hair end up growing out their bangs (and being very frustrated with the process! ;D) But, it is YOUR hair and you are young and have plenty of time to grow your hair (not to mention it probably grows pretty fast!), so the decision is ultimately yours. I've only liked bangs with shorter hair and have never had them with long hair.

thanks everyone! I still don't know what to do though. My mom says I'll be sorry, but I might like my hair like this, you know?
Grrr, so confusing. Thanks anyway! :) |

I'm not sure how young you are, but one issue I had with bangs was acne. Oil from my hair next to my skin, not good. And I washed every day back then. No bangs, skin cleared up. Something to think about...

Hi! Your hair is a really pretty color. I say, try the bangs if you want to, as they will probably grow back quickly. When I had longer hair a few years back, I had bangs. I liked them for a while, but then ended up growing them out. Still, no harm done.
