Title: Long hair styles for males Post by Yetti on Jul 8th, 2007 at 11:48pm
Ok,I know my hair is'nt long enough to do much with at the moment, but I am thinking for the future. In the past with my long hair at the time,I used to just comb it back over my forehead, the swept back look.If I was doing something, then it would be a pony tail, clasped with silver,if not, then au natrel it would be.Now,when I did have it long, and styled this way,I was told by many that tidying in this way would make my hair recede due to the tension on the roots,
Is there any truth in this? Now my hair is about five inches long at the moment, and I have started centre parting, which is not me,but I am thinking of the future condition of my hair and keen not to make mistakes if any of the past. I do like it swept back and at one point did have it like that jedi out of star wars,L.Neeson, which was great as it was under control and looked good,it being a swept back design. S hould I continue with the centre parting if there is a reason for this,or am I ok with my preferred way? |

If you pull your hair back really tight in the same manner every time, over time you can cause damage to the roots and cause the hairline to recede. This happens to professional ballerinas.
I like that jedi hairstyle, as long as you don't pull back to hard you should be ok. It would be best to rotate hairstyles to decrease damage from a barrette or pony holder being in the same placement all the time. So, to answer your question, I think yes you're OK with your preferred way. Just mix it up a bit. |

The styles I like to see on men are:
1. Loose (but not "in the face"). 2. Single ponytail 3. Single braid 4. French braid 5. Banded ponytail 6. Half of the hair pulled back. Changing how you wear your hair will prevent damage from the style. So fee free to be creative! |

I'm just gunna throw my 2 cents in real quick, my boyfriend has just-past-the-shoulder length hair, and when he puts it half-up, I absolutely LOVE it! It's a rare treat, but it makes him look like Colin Farrel in "The New World"

ahhh Sekhmet's boytoy has some of the prettiest man-hairs I have ever seen! My boyfriend on the other hand has....no hairs :( he prefers the bald look, which is also sexy, but sometimes I wish he had long flowing locks! oh well, its not really his speed :)

I love my waistelength blonde mane! I would hate to be totally bald...that is just not my style! I have noticed that totally bald men really don't like my hair! Or it seems that way to me..............

my father has had waist length hair my entire life so I am acustomed to being around men with longer hair, but its not for everyone!
