Title: refridgerating home recipes
Post by joeydog 1992 on May 27th, 2007 at 7:24pm
I have seen with many of these recipes that it is suggested to refridgerate them.  I found this curious on some fronts.  For example, I saw a mist recipe with jojoba oil, aloe oil and water (and essential oils should one chose).    Now, I have never kept my essential oils or jojoba oil in the fridge...and the aloe came straight from a plant that is not refridgerated...obviously.

While I can see why some recipes...avacado...coconut milk, etc might benefit from being refridgerated, I am curious about things with non-perishable ingredients.  Should I be refridgerating these oils that I am not?  Oh pls tell me not...my hubby will flip...I already keep my face creams and make up in the crisper!!!!

LOL! You know, I have never refrigerated any of my oil solutions.

One way to tell whether you should or not is to look at how the stores keep them. Do you ever find oils in refrigerated sections? How about aloe vera? You get the point, I'm sure.  ;)

Perishable treatments should probably be refrigerated if you plan to use them again soon. For anything else, it isn't really necessary.

Thanx Angelspun.  My hubby is quite happy with this news.  Like I said, he figures that taking over once crisper is enough...that said, I think he get more for his condiments, using all the fridge door and 1/2 of my top shelf. >:(  Why most he have so many steak sauces, BBQ sauces, etc???  I was thinking I was going to have to plug in the baby fridge and keep my "beauty salon" in there!!
