Title: Best Braid Post by Blondestorm on Apr 16th, 2007 at 2:12pm
I saw the best braid ever in person last saturday. The lady was older (late 50's or 60's) with a long thick braid that was just amazing. Her heavy rope-like braid was three inches thick all the way to her waist. Her hair had to be thighlength if undone. I wanted to hold it so badly to see just how heavy it would be. I did compliment her however! Have you all seen such hair in person?.......Have you worn your hair like that before?

No kidding! I don't have anywhere near that much hair.
I don't know if I've ever seen a braid quite like that on anyone, but that's just living proof that you're never too old to have great long hair. :) |

How funny you mention the rope braid- I did my first today. I made two pigtail buns with mine, and decorated them with rhinestone clips.
I hope to someday have a big fat rope braid ponytail-I've got the amount of hair, just not the length. I haven't seen many rope braids out here in the Wild West. Maybe I'll start a new trend :-? |

I am always in awe of older women with such thick hair. How I wish! My hair was quite thick when I was in my 20's, but it has thinned considerably. >:( I guess I should just be greatful that I can grow it long, even if it isn't as thick as I'd like. :)

Bikerbraid,
I know your feeling and your envy. I am amazed at the long and thick hair genes some women have (and a few men)! Am I the only person that would love to touch and handle such a long braid? If my hair was that long and thick, I think I would hold it incessantly and play with it. I love mine now, and it's so much thinner than I want. I guess i am just a long hair addict without a doubt. |

lol Blondestorm. You sure are. ;D
Massive braids are impressive to look at, no doubt, but I personally can't imagine dragging that much weight around on my head. :P It seems that it would be a bit overwhelming to have sooo muuuch haaaiiirrr when the braid was taken out. Of course, it's not like I can speak from experience or anything. But I do like the lightness that fine, thin hair provides...even if it means having an Obi-Wan Kenobi braid. ::) |
