I was reading another hair thread and the author was talking about using hair scroos in her buns for summer updos. What are they? How do you use them? Would they work in long thick hair like mine? If so, where can I get them? I live in the Pacific coast area of the US.

Sakina's link is right on! I have several sets of hair scroo's and love them. They twist into your bun and securely hold it in place. I've even slept with them in and my bun still held! I purchased mine via a group order at LHC, but the eBay link looks like the same thing.
