OK so yesterday I had a perfect hair day  ;D.  Now, I cannot get my hair combed  >:(.  The tangles are massive  :'(. Is there a very gentle way to remove them.  I broke probably 5 hairs trying so I stopped combing. I didnt wash it this morning.  I didnt comb it all yesterday other than to detangle after washing.  What do I do??  I pulled my bangs back and clipped them w/barret, but that was all I could do.   It looks like a rats nest.

Egads, Debr. Sorry to hear about your hair's bipolar behaviour.  :P

Tangles and breakage are unfortunately something I have to deal with all the time, as my hair is extremely fine. And strange as it sounds, when your hair is badly tangled, washing actually helps. Trying to comb out a dry rat's nest will only cause further damage.
   On the rare occasions when I have my hair professionally styled, salons always tease my hair to create volume, which also creates hopeless tangles that have to be washed - not combed - out. Condition well. Twice, if need be.

While your hair is still wet, spray a generous amount of leave-in conditioner/detangler on the length, then detangle - slowly - from the ends upward, working in small sections at a time. This will take awhile, so be patient.

If you find little knots that your comb gets stuck in, do not rip them out! Work them out with your fingers and then comb through. Allow your hair to air dry and then you should be able to comb/brush your hair comfortably. Pull it into a braid or some other contained style to avoid future tangles.

Of course, this is just what works for me...

Thanks Angel  :).  I usually finger comb my hair, ends first, then remove any knots w/fingers also.  but this morning was something all together differant.  I used a reconstructor after shampooing yesterday instead of my usual conditioner.  So, I dont know if that caused my problem or not.  I will go back to my usual routine in the morning and see if that makes a differance.  Then I can compare the two after shampoo products and decide whether or not a reconstructor is worth it.
So should do my dry comb out small section by section?  Ends first, gently, what??  Can put some olive oil in before combing or perhaps a small of conditioner? What do you think?

Yep, if my hair gets extra tangled, I find that taking a shower and using LOTS of conditioner on my hair, then gently combing thru the hair with the shower helping to detangle.  If you have used something in your hair that may have caused it to get sticky, you might try a vinegar rinse to release your hair from the product and hopefully allow it to detangle.

Yes, you should always comb slowly and gently in small sections, working from the bottom up toward the crown. Patience is important, and it can be tricky when your hair is a tangled mess and you just want all of the tangles out now!

But take your time. It's not a race. The goal here is to keep your hair and have as little breakage as possible. Best of luck, hon.

Today is much better  :).  I got into the shower, wet my hair real well, shampooed with Thicker/Fuller shampoo. TF does not build up on my hair, its for fine hair even tho mine isnt. Then I used acv rinse, then I applied the reconstructor.  Viola!!! Perfect curls again  ;D.  My guess is I cannot use the tea tree oil shampoo and reconstructor together.  If I do, then I need to wash & clarify the next morning.  I will do a dusting this afternoon and see if any damage was caused.  I think that losing those 5 hairs was the only hair loss I had  :'( :'(.  Thank you for all of your help  :).
