Title: Variation on "The Gibson" Post by maggie on Dec 5th, 2006 at 12:26pm
Thought I'd share this....I accidentally came up with a pretty cool variation on the traditional Gibson hairstyle. I've been wearing the Gibson quite a bit lately, but could not get it to stay today, so I improvised & I really like it. :)
Sorry I don't have pics, but I'll try to explain it the best I can. -Pull hair into low pony tail & slide the holder away from your head to create some space. -In keeping w/ the original Gibson, part the hair above the holder to create a pocket. -Tuck ponytail in, but instead of tucking it all in, leave a few inches of the tail to hang out the top, and secure the sides of the "hair pocket" with bobby pins against your head. -At first I left it just at this step, it looked really cute, but then I finished it off by taking that tail and looping the ends underneath, creating a second, smaller "roll" on above the original hair pocket. I used two more pins to secure that roll. The finished 'do looks like a small roll sitting atop a larger roll, with none of the mechanics showing. I hope the instructions make some sense, I'm hoping to get a digi cam for or shortly after christmas, so then I can post some pics. :) |
