Sometimes I get in a rut and wear the same old hair style for days.  So I was thinking, what is your old standby?  What do you wear when you don't feel like messing with your hair?  Is it a braid, a ponytail, or a bun?  For me it's a bun twisted up high on the back of my head, secured with a single hairstick.  

Kathy, about hairstyles, I'm at the point where I'm just getting used to longish hair (a bit past the top of my shoulder blades) and I usually just wear it pulled back in a claw, or twisted up and fastened with two beak clips.  I'm still working on making a French braid.  I think that would be nice for work.

I wear my hair in a figure eight bun held with one or two hairsticks.  This is a quick style for me and it stays all day.  My second style is a french braid.  The braid is my biking and sleeping style and when I want a more casual hair style.

I'm not a creative person, so I don't try a lot of styles anymore.  However, as my hair was growing out, I had a lot of fun with different braid and rope styles with my hair.

For me when i am at home i wear my two toned hair down (heaven) but the second i go out it goes up in a ponytail with a little quiff at the front. Its borring but so easy and hides the two tone if i put  a big beautiful cream flower hair band on.

Before I got the hairsticks, it was a ponytaill or bun secured with a scrunchy.  Now I'm still in kind of a love affair with the sticks, and I wear them nearly every day--definitely if I'm going out.  My favorite style there is the figure 8 bun.  Today, however, it's still braided from yesterday's braided bun (I've been so lazy today!--benefit or pitfall of being an at-home mom, I guess).

Speaking of which, I need to get off the computer and make lunch!

My old standby is still the velour scrunchie ballerina bun. But it sometimes loosens up if I run, so I'm trying to improve my self-braiding skills.  :-/

I'm lazy.  It is usually a bun or a french braid.  I really need to try some new hair styles.  I do like to wear it down at the end of the day, but I need it up during work.  
My "halo" seems to be getting bigger and it's annoying.   [smiley=embarassed.gif]  

Yep, I'm still alive and kickin'!  And still growing my hair!!  Between computer woes and real life crises of varying degrees, I just haven't been checking the boards much.  Glad to see everyone still growing. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I think I have two standbys-1/2 up w/mini bun (plain or braided) and a regular bun, most often with Longlocks hairsticks.

My hair is almost always in a simple braid. I've got terrible hairdoing-skills plus that it  hurts so much if my hair gets knotty- so a three-strand braid it is... Veeeeeeery boring, I know!  :-/

My standard, everyday style is a single underbraid secured by a silver hairtie.  The benefit of this is that the end of my braid is weighted, so when I get bored I can flip & swing my braid around.  I will say that I have smacked myself in the face a couple of times.   ;D

When I'm really lazy it usually just goes into a low bun secured with a scrunchie.

But what I wear quite frequently is one of those "cascading" ponytails with the ends clipped under.  I pull the hair back at the base of my head, and the pull it up to the middle of the back of my head and secure it from underneath with one of those long metal barrettes.  I say cascading because when I let go of my hair you can't see the barrette & my hair reminds me of a waterfall, cascading over the edge.  I then grab the ends & curl them under and secure them usually with two little clippies, or another barrette.  When the style is done you can't see any of the mechanics holding it in place, that's why I like it.  :)
