I was confused with waist length, not knowing exactly what part of my torso would be considered my waist.  I originally thought that my waist began where it curves in but my husband just gave me an anatomy lesson and instructed me that my waist is about an inch below my belly button.  So, I now realize that my short term goal is where my torso curves in on the sides and my long term goal is actual waist length.  

Actually after taking another look, I think that where my waist curves in is long enough although, when I reach that length I can always decide if thats really where I want to stop.

I'm looking to just maintain classic length.  If it gets longer, so be it! :D

I'm about 3 or 4 inches away from BSL.  I have thick hair and have concerns about how my scalp and neck will handle the weight.  
I want to see how comfortable I'll be at BSL and then move to waist.  I might go longer if its not a problem.

I dream of having hip length hair. BUT, my hair is already the longest it has ever been (at just past BSL), so I have a very vague conception on how longer lengths might look and feel like on me. Maybe my hair will taper too much to be nice after waist length...maybe I will find that hip length is too short...who knows? The only thing I am absolutely certain of is, that I'm not going any shorter.

For the longest time, my short term goal has been a mere 2 feet. I should reach it (hopefully) by March of next year.

I suppose my immediate long term goal is waist length, which it was when I was 20. Beyond that, well...??? Your guess is as good as mine.

Short term goal is BSL, and that is quickly approaching.   :)

My hair is currently at my waist (about an inch above my belly button or where it should curve in).  I am looking forward to tailbone length, which should take a year or so at my rate.  Eventually I'd like to get to classic.  At my age, just growing hair is great!

Hi,  I just found this subject so I hope it is not too late for my vote.  I am letting my hair grow as long as it can.  So far, so good.  I have often thought knee-length would be enuf for me, but--I have been having vague ideas of ankle length.  My hair is thick and kinda wavy, so we'll see.

My immediate goal is only BSL ...but with all the layers grown out! What was I thinking way back when I said "Yeah sure" when the hairdresser asked if she could cut "a few" layers :o

My short term goal is 26'', which hopefully I should achieve soon.  I'm currently at 25 1/4".

My long term goal (dream) is waist length.  Truth is I never had, and am kind of doubtful that I ever will.  But I keep trying!

Hey!  >:( Quit that negative thinking.  You CAN have long hair, just be patient.  ;)

Thanks, Bikerbraid, I guess I needed that!  ::)  It's at this (very dormant) stage of my hairgrowth that I always lose my patience and give up.  That's why I've come to believe that this is, or is close to my terminal length.  It seems that I can have rapid and successful hairgrowth up until about 25-26", then it puts the brakes on & that's it.  I'm not going to give up this time...at least not for a long while yet, I'll need the support of the boards more than ever now!

The "resting" phases are tough, but keep telling yourself, it is just a phase and your hair will start to grow again.

My short term goal is tailbone length, but my long-term is knee length.  I have had knee-length hair before, so I know it is possible, but as I get older and am no longer going through pregnancies, it may not be as easy!   :P

I am new here.  I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone.  My short term goal is shoulder blades length, and my long term goal is floor length. In which my hair has never been before.  I am trying though.  The longest my hair has ever been was down to the middle of my back about 2 inches above my waist.  Even though I considered that is still short.

Mine has changed too.  My short term goal is Mid Back and my long term goal is waist length.

La Diosa, my hair used to to the middle of my back when I was little.  That's the longest my hair has ever been.  I am dreamijg of having butt length and beyond hair someday soon...

Having reached 2' this past July, my next short term goal is BSL. Long term goal is still waist length.

I have changed my mind again  ::).  I have decided that for me knee length is long enuf.  There Ive said again now, so perhaps in a month or so I see what is on my mind then.

My long term goal would be kneelength.  Mine is waistlength now, and I have had it as long as mid-butt before trimming.  I am not sure mine will grow any longer now though.

I am pulling for all you ladies with floorlength goals!  That is so awesome!
