Title: Catching up, part 2 Post by Sakina on Jun 4th, 2006 at 2:18am
Ok, so there's more...
An homage to our lovely Galadriel. Here I took the very front at the sides, twisted them and brought them 'round the back where I made a small bun. I did use an elastic to keep it from untwisting. I flipped the bun up over the elastic and pinned it. I think its pretty cute :) Just a bit of bun fun. I pulled out a bit in the center bottom and used just one stick. I had been wearing it awhile by the time this photo was taken so its a bit messier than how it started out. Oops! ::) Forgot one! This was my do when I went to see the DaVinci Code with hubby. The center piece was an exchange gift from Greek_Lady (Hi, G_L! *waves*)and the little flower clips and dragonfly bobby pins are from SoHo, they sell hair stuff from a kiosk in the mall. I love their stuff, but its pricey. That's all for now. I'm sure I'll get behind again so look for more installments of Catching up! Namaste. |

WOW! I love the last one - the tucked braid with all the pretty sparklies!
Please don't wait so long to post pictures again! |

Very nice!
Do you have any hints for keeping the ends of the french braid tucked up? Mine keep falling out :P |

My hint for keeping the ends tucked up is 3 bobby pins. After you finish your braid and pick up the tail to tuck it, use your fingers to make a space for the tail to go (this is under the braid) and then stick the end in there. Take one pin and insert it at an angle, catching the hairs on one side (\) and then insert another pin the same way opposite angle (/) so they cross in an X. Coming from the bottom of the tail (closest to your scalp), take the last pin and make sure to catch your elastic and go straight up the middle with it. If you try it out, PreciousLocks, let me know how it goes!!! |

I'm enjoying your part 1 and 2 pics! It looks like it's grown a bit since I last saw a pic in your journal.
I really like the Da Vinci code 'do :) |
