Title: Interesting night.
Post by rodent on May 4th, 2006 at 1:21am
I had a very interesting night last night. I was sitting at my kitchen table, eating as usual. I heard a noise from behind, so I turned around.

Before my bewildered eyes, I saw my grandmother who I haven't seen since Christmas Eve, 1990! She didn't look a DAY older! I quickly got out of my chair and hugged har as tight as I could. I told her how much I missed her and how much I loved her. Yes it was a real uplifting experience!

...Except for one minor snag....

Yes, it was just another dream. She died right after Christmas that year. I realized this before I woke up because I noticed when we were done embracing that next to her was another who had passed this life. I started to worry:

Am I dead? I better wake up if I'm still alive! Wake up, stupid Rat!!!! I can't!

Finally, my wife wakes me. I was only asleep a few minutes and was on my back with my feet off the bed on the floor. :o

I finally go back to sleep only to find myself wrapped in the wing of a flying angel with long golden locks. She gently put me on the ground and vanished. She looked a lot like my current avatar ( the blond flower girl) which was drawn a couple days ago. I woke up and I realize I'm still alive. All this commotion and it's only 2am!

Last, I was up in my father's maple tree that has a fork about 10 feet up. Never mind that this tree was cut down 15 or 20 years ago because I think it was hit by lightning. I see the branches look like long beef tenderloins, the part where they cut the filet mignons. The branches looked so tasty! I ask those around me, " I know I can't eat oak rare, but is it OK to eat maple rare?

I finally gave up and spent the rest of the night in the recliner with a snack staring at the yard with a HUGE migrane.

Did I mention I had a very interesting night last night?

I think you need some serious dream analysis, Sir Rat!  ;D

I did it again this morning! Woke up on my back with my feet on the floor! This time I had some unknown project on the patio with a looming deadline. My wife woke me at 4:30 am when she got up to go to the grocery.

::)YES, she does grocery shopping at 5am on Thursdays....

It's no secret I have real bad sleep habits and sleep disorders. I stay up way past midnight, get up at 6am, and wake up from these dreams all night. Some I remember and some are gone. I sleep in my van at noon to get throuogh the day and sometimes again at the computer in the afternoon before dinner.

It's been a productive day so far. Already got the truck past the Missouri state inspections and survived the DMV line. Bought some dirt on the way home and even entered this:

in a denim fashion design contest.

It's only 11:30. Time to go play in the dirt. It feels like Friday!

Very cool denim outfit.  Good luck with it.

You and I would be quite the research project for sleep disorders!  You have wild dreams (makes me think of the TV show Medium!) and I have none.  And neither of us get any sleep.  ;D

Have fun playing in the dirt.  My major "gardening" project so far this year has been to spend 2 hours pulling the dandelions out of the front yard.  It was major for me, since it was my first outing to do something productive and not use a crutch or a cane!  ;D (We won't count the dandelion puller as a cane, although I used it as one.)

Was it a coinsidence about the dreams because I had a strange one last night, too :o  I dreamt that I was to get my hair trimmed(I did this trim last week,by the way)  It was a girl who did this in the dream,I said I wanted a trim and she cut off my hair, really short!!! :o >:( :'(  I always always have a guy (the manager) at the hair salon trim my hair so to have a girl trim it is so not happening in reality.  I remember screaming my head off at her( I am surprised that that was all I did in the dream)  I also remember seeing the manager and telling him what I wanted and what she did.  He decided he was going to lay down on a coach to hear my story.  Very very strange. Then I woke up.......

dreams are funnny things. I usually don't think much about them, but the more strange and stressful the dream, the most likely my life currently has alot of stress.

Sir Rat,  Dreaming of those who have passed away means that they are looking after us.  I dream of my parents alot and of old pets as well.  My friend C had a dream just rencently of his ex who had died a few months ago.  He said it was a great dream and he was so happy to speak with her.

Hello, Trisha! I wonder how many 'Show Me"s there are here?

I see Beesan is from St. Louis, so there are three.

I've never had dream analisy other than during on-line chats with friends or at work with co-workers. My co-workers think I'm a hippie leftover from the '60's getting halucinations.

"Can I eat maple rare?" Yeah, I can see their point. I don't normally have dreams meeting past loved ones who died, but I dream my own death on occaision. Curlgirl metnioned getting her hair cut in a dream. I have these dreams of hair being cut alot.

-----------------

I have one less stress today. My neighbor across the street must have noticed me cursing my lawn mower. It takes forever to start it and it usually requires a sledge hammer to free the needle valve in the carb. I own 6 lawn mowers and this is the best one of the lot.

Anyway, he cames over today while I'm playing in the dirt with a computer problem. I fixed his problem with a new power supply and proceed to go home.

"Wait, got something for you!"
"Nah, you  don't need to pay me."
"No, look." he insists.

Well, it turns out he wants a new lawn mower and needs an excuse to buy one. He gave me his old one. It is self propelled and it starts on the second pull! Gave it a blade sharpening and wow, cutting grass with a self propelled is in a class by itself!

^ Huh? I re-read this and notice I really need a life. Getting excited over a self propelled lawn mower and bringing home a load of dirt? ::)

Beesan, that weather pixie is cute.

LOL!  I can relate.  I got excited about a 40% off coupon for yarn in the mail and that I was able to pull ALL the dandelions in the front yard in one session.  Sir Rat, you can come mow my yard with your self-prepelled mower and play in the dirt anytime!

Yep, I got my dandelion out this year about two weeks ago. Little devil tried to make a home in a driveway crack! I'd be most honored to play in your dirt! It's dandelion free! :P

Today, it was a pile of wood chips around the bushes and for the little garden with the wheelbarrow and the wagon. It was clean little oak and red bud trees from the front garden. I even started the lawn mower to mulch up all the little trees gleaned from the garden... Think! A pile of dirt AND a pile of wood chips on successive days!

Ou-ou-oooh! Tomorrow is planting day for impatience and petunias!!!

I need a life. ::) Please send yarn.

------------------

I need one of those personal hair journals y'all have except for dreams instead of hair. I could sum up my hair in one paragraph:

Hair grows to bottom of ears at sides and gets close to bottom of neck in back. Gets kind of a '70's look. Wife, mother, and Sandra at work get on my case. Mother cuts it shorter . Wife, mother and Sandra at work say how nice it is to quit looking like hippie. Repeat four times a year....

::)

I was on this afternoon and the little pixiegirl had a cute pink outfit with butterflies. Is that based on St. Louis weather? I noticed tonight her background is dark and she has dark colored clothes. One other day, she had a nice red dress and jacket. But as Wishing4longhair states, her tube top is a bit skimpy for weather in the upper 60's this evening. ... Take that back, upper 50's!

Interesting piece of code.... The engineer in me wants to know how this works... :o

-----------

I later went to the weatherpixie site. Being that I'm in a weather related industry and have a hobby of drawing, I hoped there was a way to design my own pixie and her wardrobe. But alas, no. I did notice all 'Dollz' pixie's dress the same. Some of the other 'pixies' dress much more conservative. I liked the style of weathergirl#9.

So, adding to the list of things I may never get around to doing: Design my own code based on the weather station mounted in my back yard and design a weather girl that dresses to the weather.

*Me too, me too!*

ya' know if i chose her wardrobe, you would never see her bellybutton in 50 degrees :o but alas....her wardrobe has a mind of it's own.. ::) :P

My pixie girl would have knee length hair. She would have elegant dresses but also have some miniskirts. She would have shorts for the summer and coats in the winter.

Before I left for dinnier, Pixie had her red knee length dress and jacket. Now, the temp dropped and she has a tank top and bare belly. I've come to the conclusion that the outfit is not weather related but random. (or the outfit part has a bug). They got the day/night thing down pat, though.
