Title: Quick and easy Messy up-do (pic Heavy) Post by shmooey on Mar 18th, 2006 at 8:22pm
This is my long-hair-empowerment post ;)
I always get really frustrated when I see girls running around with the cutest hair.. short of course, or chopped up all weird and crazy- twisted and bunched into neat little up-dos. Maybe everyone else has already figured this out, but I sat down this morning and was determined to make my hair work for me. I ended up just grabbing chunks of the hair near my face, pulling them towards my face while twisting them tight- looping and bending them backwards, and pinning them in place randomly. Some will poof out, some will get messy or cross- but that’s what I wanted. I only did this to about 3-4 chunks of my hair, then pulled it all back quickly, and formed a loose pony tail in my hand, twisted the length of my hair just once to keep shape, and formed a large and loose spiral on the back of my head. Hold in place and pin! Ive probably got about 10 hair pins in my hair, but it is light weight and very secure :) I didn’t put many twists up, so I put a headband on so it didn’t look so plain. Sorry some of the photos are weird; I was on the phone in most of them ;) I will probably keep playing with just pinning my hair in every direction- so I don’t feel so bored with buns and pony tails! I know some of you might not like the messyness of it, but for those who do- Have fun! |

The best way to find new styles is to experiment! Good job!!! I too favor the messy look. :)

Excellent! You have mastered the "messy but elegant" look perfectly!
Thanks for sharing your photos - I'm sure they will inspire others to try new twists with their hair! ;D |

LOL! Our ears looks almost the same! I'm a few holes up on ya though, with zero gauge plugs leading the way.
Anyway, I LOVE the 'do, it's so messy and cute, what I am forever striving for! I love the twists you got in there....and your haircolor, BTW! ;D |

I LOVE it! I also like the twist with the bangs- great way to get them out of the way :)

Just thought I'd add- I wish I could wear headbands like that. They just slip right off the back of my head. I must have a wierd shaped head, I guess! :P
