Title: Rude co-manager at health food store!!! Post by Tarrenae on Jan 7th, 2006 at 7:36pm
>:(Today was a really horrible horrible day for a variety of reasons.I wish I would of known Jason products bad rep for risky ingredients ahead of time.Maybe I would have not bought it,but I did,my hair loved it,but my skin did not!!!Im itfching like mad,and the Jason facial scrub I bought turned my face deep tomato red and it felt sunburnt. The shampoo worked good in my hair but my skin started itching all over, and I started breaking out,and getting pimples and hives.
I used it only two times, and wanted to bring it back for a refund.Well I called up the store and asked if it would be okay, since the reciept was thrown out by accident...they put me on hold with what seemed like frickin FOREVER!!! and this guy picks up the phone and says in a rude tone"yea!,I told him the situation and why I needed a refund, and he said FINE U CAN BRING IT BACK BUT YOU WILL ONLY GET 80% REFUND..I know stores have different refund policies but this was ridiculous..I politely asked him why and he rudely started raising his voice with me,and said angrily "I GAVE U THE ANSWER RIGHT! I was horribly shocked and he kept screaming telling me every store has a different policy....I hung up on him! I MEAN HOW RUDE CAN U BE,IM THE CUSTOMER,AND HES SCREAMING AT ME,AND TALKING TO ME LIKE IM NOTHING! Anyway I wrote JASON an email, and one way or another I DESERVE 100 PERCENT REFUND..dont you think so?????it just seems totally wrong to me. IM REALLY TIRED OF HOW PEOPLE CAN BE SO MEAN AND RUDE!!! EVEN WHEN UR A PAYING CUSTOMER!!! IM NEVER EVER GOING BACK THERE... :'( >:( |

There is no excuse for rudeness in the retail business.
As for the refund - partial refunds are not uncommon when part of the product has been used. Unless you see a 100% Satisfaction Guarentee, you may not get a full refund. |

I'm so sorry you had to deal with such a rude @$% :-/>:(
What happened to "the customer is always right" ??? and even IF that's their policy, he shoudn't yell, that is no excuse, do you remeber his name? you should report him, don't they like record the phone calls or something? Anyway, i hope your allergic reaction gets better ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) |

I'm very sorry to hear about this, Tarrenae.
Being that I talk with customers over the phone for a living, I have some insight into situations like this, and I can tell you that whomever you spoke with was 100% out of line! If anyone at my company spoke like that to one of our customers, we'd be fired on the spot. No questions asked. Dealing with idiots and irate jerks is part of the job in a customer service position. You either accept that when you sign up for the gig, or you don't do it at all. Plain and simple. Man, if I had a nickel for every customer I've spoken with at my work who made me feel terrible or completely creeped out or like I wanted to bust up laughing at them, well....I'd be a very, very rich lady! But the thing is, you're not allowed to be anything but professional when dealing with a customer, regardless of how they're treating you. That's just the reality of it. As to the refund, every manufacturer and distributor has different policies. It was smart of you to write to J.A.S.O.N. directly because manufacturers are usually more likely to give someone a full refund if they are unsatisfied with a product. So far, the store has offered you an 80% refund, which is still pretty good. But I would wait a bit and see if you can get a 100% refund from the manufacturer (granted, this may be pretty difficult to do without a receipt). Basically, take whichever offers you more money back. Also, when faced with a situation like this, where you feel that you must call the store and complain, it would be to everyone's benefit if you yourself remained polite through the entire conversation. Help that person want to help you. Be polite and be specific. And if the person you're speaking with does become irate with you, ask to speak to the manager. I realize, of course, that the person you were speaking with may have been an assistant manager. But there is no excuse on earth for an assistant manager to act that way toward you. You may have to go back to the store and speak with the manager directly to get any real results. I hope you find some resolution soon. Remember, the day may be ruined, but that doesn't mean that the night has to be! ;) |

Oh I know what you mean, girl! I hope your allergic reaction improves. I'm so sorry that you had to deal with a rude manager. At least you did the right thing and hung up instead of cussing him out. /hug |
