Title: new hair styles?! Post by reeses067 on Jan 4th, 2006 at 3:14am
I have a routine for my curly hair that is very boring! I wash it one day, maybe wear it down the next day also, put it up the next day, and then start the whole routine over again. Does anyone have hair styles that are practical for thick, curly hair? I'm sick of wearing ponytails! Thanks :)

I like to wear it 1/2 up in a bun with the rest down when my hair is too poofy to put in a full bun.
Have you looked at the picture thread? You may have to go back a ways but there is probably lots to inspire you there. Good Luck!!! |

You could try a french roll. With practice these can be quite easy and give you new variety. My hair isn't thick enough, or have enough texture for them, but I'm sure your hair would meet the criteria!

with hairstyles for curls i like to do half up and half down for an occassion(did i spell this right....not sure where my dictionary is now......oh well). Also i like to put my hair in to low pigtails on each side some times, for fun. good luck.

Another hair style I like to do is a ponytail that is pulled out. Put the hair tie in and then pull it out until you have a loose ponytail. How much you pull it out depends on you. I usually pull it out until it's about 4 in. from the bottom. It gives a little bit of a flower child/hippy look, but it's variety.

Long Hair Loom has a large database of hair styles. With mine, I tend to softly twist it and loop it against the back of my head, then stab it with sticks until it stays. This is good for hot weather when you really want your hair off your neck but don't really care what it looks like. Otherwise I mostly do buns, half-buns and half-ponytails, and gibson tucks. However, my hair is getting a little long for the gibson tuck and I think I'll have to give it up soon. If your hair is longer than mine but not as thick it might work.
