Title: Fixing up some cheap hairsticks?
Post by Bardic Love on Oct 30th, 2005 at 3:26pm
I recently got some hairsticks from Clairs at our mall, and I rather like them. They're metal(I suppose) and they stay well in my hair, but the ends(the buissiness end, not the decorative ends) are too blunt and flat, they catch hairs as I try to weave them in. I'm afraid they'll snag and break some hairs so I try to be very careful when I do wear them. Would there be a way to fix up the ends so they might not be as bad to wear?

Metal ends are harder to "fix" than wood or plastic, but the same techniques apply.  If it is a soft metal, a metal nail file might work.  The best method would be to reshape the ends with a grinder and then "polish" the ends with a buffer on the grinder.

If the ends are OK, but just not smooth enough, you could try coating the metal with a clear nail polish.
