Fun with braids. I just did two pigtail braids and secured them with claw clips. It stayed all day, but the ends kept coming out (I just tucked them in... I guess I should have used pins!)

Yea!  Another short hair grow out!  

I had a very short pixie and have grown my hair out (initially out of frustration from not being able to find someone to properly trim my hair!).  Your hair looks lovely.  I particularly love the braids.  I like to wear my hair that way when working outdoors.

The sad thing is that my hair was the length it is now, when I chopped it. I've had short hair 4 times in my 31 years. When I was born, my hair was short ;) Once when I was 5 and got gum in my hair... my friend cut it out for me since we thought my mom would be mad. Once when I was 24 after a horrible perm (I had no choice - my hair was literally MUSH and I lost handfuls of it every time I showered) and last, when I was pregnant with my first child.

I vowed after that chop that I would NEVER AGAIN have short hair! When I am an old lady, my grandchildren will play with my long hair!

I know I said this on the new members' board, but I'll say it again: your hair is very nice! And that braided style is cute.

Very pretty!  Looks so soft and shiny, and I love the highlights in the last one.  

Sara, my goal is mid-back. I've got another 6 inches to go, but I need a trim. I haven't had a haircut since April/05, and until 3 months ago, I was colouring my hair, so I have ratty ends. I'm getting 2" cut off, probably next month.

YOur hair looks very pretty  :) And I do like the braids

Actually, I had a pixie most of my life - this is only the 3rd time I've had longer hair!  ;D

This is the longest my hair has ever been (it is now classic length).  Previously I had it my waist and middle back.  I'll have to see if I can find any pictures around and scan them.

Anais, it isn't as neat as it looks! You can see the elastic on the end of the braid, and there are some little bits sticking out. I hate to admit this, but I did it without a mirror... so it would have been neater if I hadn't done it while sitting with my baby in front of the TV  :D

Oh, and you've commented on my hair colour before... I think it is very similar to your colour, y/k? You're a bit of a hair idol to me ;)

I did a different version today. Made a ponytail and did 2 braids, which I wrapped in opposite directions. Unfortunately, I can't get good lighting right now as it is overcast and we don't have much bright lighting, so the photo isn't great.

Your hair is a shade or two lighter than mine, and I see a fabulous subtle red undercurrent to it. And the highlights are much lighter than any of my hairs. That's why I'm so in love with your color. It's got a great balance.

Anais, the red isn't natural! I dyed my poor hair every imaginable shade of red for about 10 years. I covered it with a dark ash brown to attempt a match of my natural colour (and came darned close!) but the red still comes through. I'm thinking about trying henna, since I'm noticing some greys.

Natural Rogue, it is very easy to do the braids that way.

Got a trim yesterday. Took 1.5" off - I thought I'd need to take more off to get rid of the splits, but she was nice :)

Your trim makes your hair look very thick and healthy.  

:D my stylist actually commented on how much hair I have. I have fairly fine hair, but I have lots of it!
