Title: Troublesome buns Post by Sara on Oct 13th, 2005 at 1:54am
I seem to have trouble with buns. I catch the hair ina pony tail holder, twist it and put it up and secure it with pins. However, more often then not it ends up lop-sided,
to the side, too small or two loose. Can someone help me??? Also, I seem to have trouble making buns high on my head because my hair seems to get messed up on top. |

Hi Sara, :)
I can probably help you with your second question. I read somewhere that if you ilt your chin up-as if your looking at the ceiling(sp :P) just not too high- and gather your hair up that way. So i gave it a try and it worked :D, my hair didn't dare mess up again :D HTH :) |

I've been having trouble with buns too. For the lop sidedness, I noticed that they weren't as lop sided when I didn't use a hair band first. I'm not sure why, but securing the ponytail with an elastic made things worse. It takes some practice, but buns can be made with just pins.

Along the lines of the lifting the chin idea, I like to lean against something like a high-back chair for support. Then you can drape my hair over, and it helps to take the weight off your hair. Also, if the bottom part of a high bun gets saggy, making it while leaning against a chair really helps that problem too.
There are some good instructions here that show how to make a bun without a ponytail holder. There is a video at the bottom of the page that is really helpful too. Go here, then click Instructions, then Bun Instructions http://www.haarkram.e-something.de/start.html Cynde |
