Title: Caffeine and hair Post by ChiliPepper on Sep 3rd, 2005 at 1:17am
Has anyone else noticed that their hair just doesn't behave as well when they have caffeine on a regular basis? For about three months I gave up caffeine then when things got stressful I started up the habit again. I have one regular Coke a day.

Oh have mercy - I am trying so hard to work on this - I haven't quite got it yet - but I'm substituting pre boiled tea - rooibus. I think as with most things a little is OK but a lot not so good - especially with artificial sweetners ...g

Usually when I drink a lot of caffine I feel kind of slow and sick in general. I'm trying to kick the habit too but it's so hard. I just have to keep thinking that I function better without it.

I didnt notice hair changes (I stopped having daily coffee about 3 years ago) but honestly, I wasn't paying attention because my hair was short. But, I did notice that my skin was less dry and itchy that I was less agitated and jittery, my digestive system worked better - when I quit coffee. So I wouldn't be surprised if it has an effect on hair also.
I do still treat myself to a White Chocolate Mocha every once in a while. I also like "fake coffee" (powder mixes like International Coffees". Oh, and one new addiction lately - gas station coffee. :) It's the same as the powder stuff and comes out of a machine. You see the same machines at airports, train stations, and I even saw one last week at a hospital. Cynde |
