I'm going to be heading out on part 2 of my vacation on Saturday (8/6) morning.  Hubby and I will drive across Wisconsin, spend a night with his mother, then on Sunday we head down to Port Washington to load our bikes, gear and ourselves onto semis and buses (hopefully we get the bus and the bikes get the semis!) to get to our starting point in Antigo WI.  The biking adventure starts for real on Monday 8/8.  Working our way SE thru Wisconsin, we will end up back in Port Washington on Saturday after biking somewhere around 375 miles.  We plan to be home again on Sunday.

I'd appreciate it if everyone would think of good weather for us (mid-70's to low 80's are great, no rain), smooth roads, tailwinds and no uphills (downhills are ok  ;D).  

Be kind to our 'blind 8) as a bat" gabi , and hope that she survives my absence and doesn't get too carried away at her and Greek_Lady's Diamond celebrations.

No fighting, no arguing, be nice, and have fun!

Sorry, I won't get down to Milwaukee.  Once we finish, we will head back up to the Appleton, Neenah, Menasha area for a REAL SHOWER, and sleep in a REAL BED at hubby's mother's place, then head back home.

I'm afraid I'll come back from my trip and EVERYTHING will be gone!  I'd better check with Rapunzel to make sure she has good security on her side of the web site so you can't delete that as well!

As for chewing while biking - I try to not eat while biking.  I do, however, drink frequently while biking. (water - gabi, get your mind out of the gutter, which is where I would be if it wasn't water!) I have a hydration pack with the hose that makes it easy to suck on water as needed.  (Very important to drink lots of fluids when biking all day).

Washing behind the ears isn't as big of a concern as finding an appropriate (or at least reasonable) place to go potty when you are in the middle of nowhere!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.  The bike is mostly fixed.  I rode it to work this morning and just need to make an adjustment so I can get into high gear.  My bags are packed, and I just have a few errands to run after work tonight (drop the car off for maintenance, get cash at the bank, mow the lawn, do the final laundry, pack the van and load the bikes).  I sorta go into "que sera sera" mode at this point and just hope for the best.

Ah, you're probably on your way by now but I wanted to wish you a wonderful trip.
