Title: I Wanna Talk About My Hair!!! Post by American Woman on Jul 15th, 2005 at 2:22am
I discovered this site a few days ago and found lots of ideas. Anyway, last week, I decided wanted to grow my my hair down to my butt.
I've usually worn it long, but I've chopped it off a few times. Last time I cut it was 3 1/2 years ago, I went from chest length to my ears. :o Well, it just got to where it was 22" in the back but I cut it down to 17" so I could start w. one length all around. I didn't take any off the front. BTW. I got the info on how to do my own trim from here. Best trim I ever gave myself. lol Hair Stats in a nut shell: Plusses thick thick 4" pony tail. wavy, just airdry abnd fluff with fingers ever so often. Haven't blowdried since last time I cut it short. Minuses: frizz frizz frizz. split ends. dry ends, breaks easy. I think I discovered the cure for that though. I'm putting shortening in my hair since I read about oiling here. (it works ) My outer hair feels soft, which it doesn't usually. The under layers always feel soft I really loved what the vinegar rinse did for my hair yesterday. I've done that before though. otta do that more often) I'm going to sit on my hair before die |

Welcome aboard American Woman :)
I am a frizzhead too. My hair is full of flyaways and it never looks smooth but most of the time I try not to take too much notice of the fact. Besides, fluffy frizzy hair looks more voluminous ;) ;) P.S. I now have that song playing in my head: American Woman ... oh well ;D |

It took me 6 months to get used to the K version of that song. All the fans on the Guess Who board were "Ahhggghhhh. How dare he!!"While Burton was "Cool, I like it.He even copied my adlibs" |

Hi and welcome from another newbie!! I love vinegar rinsing. I CO and then vinegar rinse about 3-4 times a week and my hair is in the best shape it's ever been. Last weekend I had to get some hair color gone bad lifted from my very fine hair and the ladies at the salon were amazed at how well my hair took the harsh treatment. I believe it's because of that.

American Woman- welcome!
(I remember that song, too!) My hair gets frizzy, too, especially in the humid summers. I tame them with aloe vera gel. I actually like my halo of frizz, my hair is so thin that the fluffy frizz in the summer(my hair is wavy) gives me some much needed volume! |
