I got my first two hair complements recently.

First, a few weeks ago, a friend I haven't spokent too much in about 3 years rang me. (we were best friends, but we both moved, and she had no internet, and phone calls were really restricted to birthdays, cos they were toll calls etc...)

anyway, they had a cheap phone calling thing and we talked for ages, and she asked me how I looked now cos she hadn't seen any recent pics.  I told her I was growing my hair long, and she asked how long (she had always known me with either a chin cut, or that layered thing where I couldn't even tuck my hair behind my ears it was so short) and I told her I was at bsl, and heading towards my waist and then my hips.  Her reaction was "Oh, nice!  Longer hair should slim your face down too, thats really cool!" then we moved on.  

Also, this past week I've had a friend from overseas staying before she went on holiday with her parents, and her parents stayed her on her last night with us before they went off together.  I'd washed my hair a few hours before, and it was combed but slightly damp, and sitting very straight with no friz, and her mum picked a but up and said she really liked my hair longer and it was looking good.

So I am happy, and went and brought more hair stuff, lol.  now I have a whole heap of really cool bands and some ibis clips.

But they were my first real hair compliments, appart from a friend telling me I should wear my hair out more often cos it looked so much nicer (I always wore it in a braid at school (had to have it tied back somehow due to school rules), and got into the habit of wearing it in a braid all the time, its how my hair got to bsl without me noticing.)  But, yes.

That's great Kathleen!  I can live off a couple of genuine compliments like those for weeks of "bad hair days" ;D

Grats on the compliments!  And the long hair too.  Isn't it nice when it grows without you knowing it?  ;-)  Now that I pay attention to my hair, I swear it's not growing!

Amazingly, I had ANOTHER compliment the other day. I had done a supre conditioning treatment, and I was at work, and one of my colluges said to me in my break that my hair looked good and a bit farier :D

lol, I love compliments.  I've seen so many longhairs recently. Today I saw several with hip and heaps with waist.  all beutiful.  Blond, black,red, thick and wayvey and thin and dead straight.  this was in the course of a few hours at work.  lol.  About five or six all up.  I also saw an elderly lady with what looked like a silver figure eight bun or something, and one in her late 40s who was growing out the short look!

Maybe we're just getting smarter and more confident of our own sense of style instead of what the fashion moguls dictate. ;)
