Title: Watching long hair "from a distance" Post by bikerbraid on May 25th, 2005 at 11:39pm
Over the past couple years, I've certainly become more "aware" of others with long hair. Most every day my coworkers and I eat at a shopping mall food court. Lots of other business people in the area do the same thing, so you get to "recognize" the same people over time.
There are a couple of regulars with long hair, that I find myself watching for each day to see how their hair is looking that day. Two people in particular I see most every day. One is a young fellow, probably about 25 with light brown hair almost to his waist. It obviously has not been cut or trimmed for many years, so he has what I call "fairy tale ends". Today he had his hair in a braid! It is the first time I have seen him with it in a braid. It looked really good. The second person is a young, professional gal, about 30. She keeps her hair at BSL with regular trims. Her hair is straight, dark honey blonde; very shiny, and in good condition. She likes to wear her hair in a french braid or ponytail with a scrunchie. I always admire how she never has a hair out of place, no frizzies, no loose hair - EVER. Today she showed up with her hair in a half pony tail, looking very nice, BUT....... it was DARK BROWN! :o I was in shock! Both of "my fellow longhairs" had done something drastic with their hair today. I wonder if this is a sign - should I do something drastically different? And what should that be? |

Just my opinion, but I don't believe that the words "drastic" and "healthy hair" can be used in the same sentence... ;D

LOL! You might be right. However, I could say the cutting my hair to a short bob would be both drastic and healthy. But then I would lose my job here at LL, so I guess I won't follow up on that option. |

Perhaps Spring has Sprung up in the northern reaches? 8)
You've called the bluff on the short bob already this year, BB! One shock a year is all you're allowed ;) |

I know what you mean about watching the long hair thing. Around uni I have a few people I always see with long hair, I don't know them, but I always see them. There's this girl that often comes into work too (I work at a health and beauty store) she has waist length slightly ringetley shiney hair (with never a hair out of place, though she always wears it down, no flyaways or anything), that is probably dark brown but she dies black. She's really pretty (a tiny girl, and her waist length hair accentuates her small waist too) and the other day her hair was looking a little dull and I think to myself 'you need to re-dye that' and sure enough, she brought some dye.
