Title: Do you drape?
Post by Sakina on Apr 29th, 2005 at 6:08pm
Last night as I did my sleeping french braid I draped it and wondered if you lovely ladies tend to drape or not.  I've decided that the draped braid is much more flattering on me than the regular tighter to the skull braid.

So, who drapes and who does not?

For those of you who don't know about draping, it is basically holding the hair out from your head as your braid so that when you let the hair down it "drapes".  On the Dream Weaver braiding page there are a couple of draped braids.

When my hair gets longer I'll for sure be a draper.  My drape doesn't stay in overnight, but I haven't tried it for all day- I think my sides are a tad too short right now.

I do a loose french braid at times.  It does give a more sophisticated look.  I would do it more, but it does get messy looking a lot faster than my usual french braid.

On me that wouldn't drape, it would droop.

ah yes, fine slippery hair here too snif. i tried in vain a victorian style, but even the flip through pony tail looks kinda weird. and then for the rest of it my hair is just too long and i don't get where to pin the pulled up hair.

Nope, my hair is too wispy for that and I think it would drive me crazy. :-/

Can't drape.  I think it would be a good style for me too, but I've finally just been able to do a regular french braid, with a little coaxing on the layers.
