;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'm old enough to not tell you how old I am.   ;)
But young enough to appreciate your attempt at singing!   :D

No cake, sorry.  But I'll pass the bottle of wine around to share (for those who are of legal drinking age).

Thank you!  (now where are my presents??)

Happy Birthday, BB!
Tonight when I have a glass of Merlot, I'll toast to your good health and long hair  ;D

I hope you get a chance to make a wish...and that it comes true.

Enjoy your present-you'll have to post a picture with them in your hair.  I love that burgundy color!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!   ;D

I'm a fan of cheap wine though.  All the 'good' stuff tastes like alcohol.   :-X   ;)

Are you doing anything fun for your birthday?

areyou kidding me?? the good stuff tastes much richer and actually softer. no harshiness in the goodies, and believe me i've been drinking some goodies in my life! (bf & i have a big love for the great bordeaux wines, we'd rather invest a lot into one bottle than drink a hundred cheap ones).

YAY CAKE!

Thanks!  This one's calorie free even and chocolate.  Is there any mint in it?  Greek_Lady won't want any then.  Can I have hers??

Hey Styg-what's the best wine to go with chocolate cake, besides champagne?

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.

Anais - thanks for bringing the cake.  My favorite - the kind with no calories!

Rapunzel - thank you soooooo much for the hairsticks.  I was afraid you had forgotten about those.

Sakina - merlot goes great with chocolate.

Valerie - good wine does not have to be expensive.  Hubby makes our wine - it comes out to about $3 a bottle.  Of course there are 30 bottles to a batch, so we are always ready for a good party!

Greek Lady - eat your heart out - those hairsticks are MINE, all MINE!

Sakina did it have any mint in there? So that I can be less sorry for losing my slice?  ;D

BB that is one awesome pair of sticks!! Awesome! AND the first ever (for as long as I've been around) in that wonderful, rich, deep, simply great colour!!!! Congratulations and enjoy it! It will be beaaaautiful in your fair hair!
Here's my present. Hope you like it :-[ :) http://tinypic.com/4icw9z

*muttering to herself:* One goes to sleep and misses all the fun! I must change timezones :D ;D

Having a birthday party without me? *blink*

Happy Birthday, Bikerbraid

As a present, I won't even try to sing :)

Greek Lady - THANK YOU!  Those flowers are beautiful. The colors are not unexpected from you.   ;)  Are they from your own garden?  As for the color of those sticks - yes I JUMPED on them (as tactfully as I could) as soon as I saw that deep lucious maroon color.  I new they would not last long.

Autumn - I had a wonderful quiet day - thank you.

Galadriel - I appreciate those who know their limitations, unlike Susan, who just blasts it out there, even though she KNOWS she can't sing.

You may have to recommend something, but every sip of wine I've tried that wasn't arbor mist or wild vines tastes yucky, and has a horrible aftertaste.  The alcoholic drinks I really like usually taste like candy.

Glad you had a good day bikerbraid!  I would try homemade wine.  My mom used to make a bunch of different liquers when I was younger, but I don't think I ever tried them.  My friends thought she must be an alcoholic when they'd come over to a house full of empty booze bottles.   :P

red wine would be a perversion i think but most white wines must be ok, especially those very sweet yellow ones that go well with foie gras as well. those balance bitterness (if you eat cake with very dark chocolate that is).

Maybe a cyber-Red Hat Society?  I'm in the pink hat category, but not for long (2 more years).

Gabi - the Red Hat Society is very real.  It started shortly after Jenny Joseph published her poem "Warning".  The beginning line starts:

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.

You can read the whole poem here.

We need to add a line about wearing our hair long under the red hat instead of bobbed and permed ;)
