Title: My hair
Post by Kathleen on Mar 24th, 2005 at 11:22pm
This is a picture I took about five mins ago using the timer setting on my digital camera.

I washed my hair yesterday morning, and got called in to work afterwards, so it was still a little damp when I put it up, which gived the big bump from my low flipped ponytail thing I do it in for work.  plus, I've slept on it losley braided (it was so soft and silkey last night it wouldn't braid properly, so I had to go for very lose), so thats where the braiding lines are from.

thankyou!
And Valerie, you simply have to tell me how to do my hair like yours in your picture! (that is your hair, right?)

yes, it is fine, though I have the occasional black hair that is really thick and coarse.

As for thick, I measred its circumfrence in a pony and it was 8cm, which is just over 3 inches, and I'm not sure if that's thick or thin or normal.

I think it has thickened out as I've gotten older, as when I was little it was blonder, finer and thinner, and then it got cut off (ear length layers! *cries*) and kept that way for four years.

I can't wait till it gets to the small of my back.  (but I'll have to, as its taken about three and a half years to grow it 12 inches, well, fourteen inches as I got two taken off the other day)

The picture in my icon is my hair in a dutch 5 strand braid.  I'm not good at getting the tail looking good, so I tucked it up inside.  I haven't practiced them in quite some time, but hope too again soon.  You can get instructions for it at www.dreamweaver.com.   :)

ah, thankyou! It looks so beautiful! so neate and flat.

I'll give it a try, but my fingers have enough problems with a 3 stranded dutch braid, especially as I have to have one hand free to detangle the ends as I go.  I wish I could grow more fingers!

Beaaaaautiful hair Kathleen!  :D ::)
It looks in very good condition too! That short hair cut you say, paid off in the long run it seems! I wish I had the courage to do that too at some point!

thankyou everybody :) You're all so kind!

I will admit that the photo was taken on the best hair day I've had in years...

And about the short hair cut Greek_lady, I don't think it was that that helped my hair, all it did is get rid of my even fairer and white-blond hair I had as a child.  a week ago my ends were in very poor condition, so I cut two inches off, which is why it's healthy now.  I regret the under the ear cut I had when I was twelve, if I'd had a choice I wouldn't have had it and learn't instead how to take care of my hair properly, but as I said, I was twelve and my mum still controled what I wore and what I did with my hair.

I think my hair would have changed had I had the cut or not, it was just more noticable with the cut, as the change seemed more sudden as it wasn't noticable with my short hair.

Thank you Biker and Autumn my hair is not as thick as it looks, but has a lot of body :-)... the ends look better as I have used the frey method of trimming, first time and it turned our pretty good.

It is a little dry though is there anything to use to help bring out the shoe and the ends are a lil frizzy if I don't straighten thenm do you recommend a good product for th ends...sorry so long, but this is first time really working hard to get to my goal.

Thanks so much!!
