Title: Brunette Pouff Post by Ceridwen on Mar 12th, 2005 at 8:32pm
My obliging roommate snapped these for me on the fly, so I'd not had time to tidy that day's braid. It's mussed and the picture's dark, but it'll give you the general idea.
Same braid, close up. It's all shiny from a night's soak in EVOO Here's the mane unleashed... And a front view with my cat Athena Nike, who was photographed under protest. It's normally a bit floofier, this is three days out from a wash with liberal amounts of EVOO and shea butter. |

Beautiful, shiny hair! WOW. (A pretty smile to go with it too!) and your kitty is cute.

Both have pretty hair.
Kitty looks ready to jump away becuase of the flash. My one cat has back claws and whenever he gets startled, jumps of my lap, I'll have claw marks somewhere. Brad |

*grins* in spirit only... I'm doing a degree in Classical Greek and Latin, so when I got a little stray kitty with a thing for strategic victory over feather toys, the name just seemed to fit. My other cat, may she rest in peace, was a Pandora :)
BTW, for those who might wonder why I named my kitty after a sneaker, Nike was the Greek goddess of victory before she decided to spend her retirement years as an athletic company :) My own fuzzy Nike now spends her time beating up on her baby brother Copernicus (ickle black and white boy who likes to stare at shiny things). Thanks for the compliments *beams* it's definitely tons better with the olive oil, which means y'all have been amazingly helpful already :D Thanks a million! I tried to get Nike to write a nice thank you for her compliments, but she seemed to think it was only what she and her soft calico coat deserved. She also reminds me that her fur is still prettier than mine, and that she wants another tuna treat.... |

oh, just BEAUTIFUL. I could do anything with hair like that... you should wear it in a dutch cascade crown with red ribboned accents sometimes...
hehe, sorry. I hope you wear it down too sometimes, it is so nice! it looks like the kind of hair that will look nice no matter what style you do to it. |

A dutch which? *perks up ears* Instructions please, that just SOUNDS pretty! *grins* and thanks much. BTW, whoever suggested mixing conditioner with 1/2 honey, you rock! It totally reduced the puffiness, and for a wonder didn't make it all sticky like I thought it would, just nice and shiny soft. Who'd a thunk it? |

its like a crown braid, only part of it is left down in a cascade, there's instructions on the dream weaver braiding site, I'll just hop over and get you the link.
EDIT: Here it is: http://www.dreamweaverbraiding.com/braids/cascade.htm that one doesn't have accent braids, but they're quite easy to do, I do them by accident, when I midd a bit of hair, I just turn it into an accent braid, lol. |
