Title: New pictures including pre and post color Post by Valerie on Feb 26th, 2005 at 9:28pm
So here are a couple comparisons of my hair pre and post color. I really love the new color.
The waves in the post picture are my natural waves after washing. I haven't tried wearing them down for any time, so I'm not sure how long they would last. What would these be classified as? |

I don't know about the classification but I think the new color is TERRIFIC...really attractive! ;D

Such a beautiful colour your new one. No way it can compare with the previous double colour. Very good choice. :)
And your waves look so soft and gentle and... touchable! ;) Thanks for sharing |

Thanks everyone! I had been hoping to get pictures with similar lighting but that hasn't worked out yet. I suppose in a month or so I'll know just how well this matches my natural color. I really think it will be close, and will hopefully blend well.

Beautiful, Beautiful!! i've been thinking of doing the same thing, but I'm not sure I want to lose the blonde, yet. But I don't want to keep dying blonde, either. Mine is growing out, like yours was.

Valerie -- you have lovely hair. I like the new color.

what a difference!! proofs again that dark hair always looks denser ;)
but i would still have tried henna rather than redying. i am horrified what multiple applications did to my hair (i used to redye my top layers after each summer, and some strands are really bizarely zigzagged, luckily no splits though) |

Valerie, do you know what kind of colour was used?
Was it permanent or semi permament? What Brand? Just asking because some day I will probably do the same. Styg_ Yes I think dark hair does look denser. I'm kinda scared to try henna- although I would rather go that route instead of chemical dye. I'm afraid I might get an unwanted result. No stylist around here will apply henna( I live in a rural area) they're against it. I'll have to do it myself- kinda scares me. |

babyfine, i just washed the first hairball from my strandtest with ahmad (henna from iran) and it didn't seem to turn green nor black (not that i'd mind black, i hope to be able to achieve an "almost black" with henna + herbal henna.
and henna has hardly any smell in my opinion, smells like spinach if you stick your nose in it. ;D i think henna is loads of fun and your rewarded with greater hair instead of dried out locks. |

All I know is that it was a demi-permanent? color. Supposed to let all my natural highlights come through. Once I knew my friend was going to do it, I stopped worrying as much about what she was using. It did cause damage though. I'm having to deep condition a ton, and I've got splits that are going to take a very long time to get rid of. |

not that any color is really permanent. yes, permanent color will never really disappear but what is left is a faded version of what was initially applied.

I loooove that new color and those gorgeous waves ;D ;D They remind me of Lady Galadriel from Fellowship. Val, your hair is Wunderbar! I'd say you're about a 2a or a 2b for the waviness.

I don't regret doing it at all. I wish I had more growth this month so that I could really tell how close to my natural color it is.
Thanks again everyone! |
