Title: Widu Bamboo Bristle Brush Post by strawberryfine on Jan 4th, 2005 at 4:37pm
Has anyone used one of these? ???
http://www.chinaberry.com/showbook.cfm?invnum=1194&userid=73847711 They also make a wooden bristle brush in two sizes. They are kind of pricey. I read somewhere that Bass makes a wooden bristle brush for about $10. This was interesting to me, but for some reason I just don't like brushes with the bristles inserted into rubber pad; I have absolutely no reason to not like them, I just don't. I'd love to hear any thoughts on this. TIA, SF |

Looks interesting. Being a very tactile person, I would have to see and touch one before I would pay that kind of money for a brush. Especially since I seldom brush my hair. (But maybe a brush like this would make me want to brush my hair!) ;)

I don't like rubber pad brushes either, they "catch" on the hair and cause friction, which causes hair loss, which I don't really need at this point :P Frankly I don't see the point of a pokybrush though! A comb detangles and a BBB distributes oil, so what's a pokybrush supposed to be for? ? ::)
Hm.... more hm... Anais ;) |

Although, I hadn't put it so eloquently AnaisSatin, you make a very valid point!
And welcome back, by the way!(((((A))))) A PokyBrush, indeed. I like it. ;D It's descriptive and to the point! I wondered why that would be better than a plastic brush or a wire-pin brush like you groom a dog with for that matter. I think I'll hold out for the goat brush, if any. SF |

To me it looked like that much of the praise that Widu brush received on the page is really things that one can say about ANY wooden hairbrush with wooden (or similar bristles)...like it being easy to clean, massaging scalp and not heating when one blow-dries (does someone do that? ::)). Combined to rather high price and the fact that I never brush except very little with natural bristle brush to spread jojoba oil, I for once don't have a temptation to buy.
Of course, I'm eager to hear more of this from a more impartial choice, so don't you feel discouraged because of my skepticism ;) |

Hi,
Here is the link to the lower priced version by Bass: http://www.thehairdoccompany.com/hairdoc_04.html I think #16 was recommended and that you can also buy them at Whole Food Stores. I've pretty much talked myself out of one of these. The only possible benefit I can imagine is that it might feel good to the scalp. SF |
