I don't have Asian hair, but I have always thought it was so beautiful.  When I was little, I heard that your hair gets darker as you get older.  I was so certain that by the time I was 8 years old I would have long, black, silky braids down below my waist. :-[Didn't happen. :'(

For those of you who have it, be proud of it and show it off!  It is stunning!

I agree.  The only long hair I've ever coveted has been the beautiful long locks on Asian ladies.  I've admired beautiful curls, I've envied lovely reds and auburns - but ever since I was a child (now, no laughing) I've had long beautiful Asian hair in my most lovely dreams.  I'm always more than a little bit disappointed when I wake up, and my fine, wavy brown reflected back at me.  (Sorry, hair - really I do like you - quite a bit.......... but would it have been too difficult to add just a bit of Asian to the gene pool?)

Each time I see your photo, anais, The shine and the sleek, yummy volume .... I'm reminded why I love Asian hair.  You ladies blessed with this beautiful hair are so fortunate - who needs curls when your hair speaks for itself?!

I have Asian hair but it is so hard to style. It is also really hard for me to straighten and curl it.  :( I've always wished I had long, silky brown hair, but....I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.  ;)

Thanks for the compliments. I guess I'm just really ungrateful but I like long Asian hair on all other heads than my own!  I just think I have to most badly behaved hair and that it's always been that way.  Straight yes, coarse yes, thick yes, dense no, smooth like silk??? Not my hair!  I just think my "hair" is just a bunch of unruly black wires!

I'm envious of Anais' hair and the galleries I see of these Japanese ladies long hair.  I wonder if there's a difference between Japanese hair and Thai hair?  I'm adopted from Thailand.  No one around me has any type of Asian hair so I've got no one to ask.

I'm quite sure there is.  I remember a gal mentioning that Chinese hair is not a silky/smooth as Japanese hair and that Chinese hair is more prone to frizzies.

Anyone else have more concrete help to offer?

One thing I did hear was that Asian hair,especially Chinese hair is very strong!  That's all I heard though,if nothing else it'll put a smile on your face! :)

My hair is strong and will take a lot of abuse which I don't do though but I don't think my hair looks as nice as the hair on some of the Japanese girls I've seen but I've heard that their hair doesn't take as well to dyes and perms as my hair does.  I've never had problems with dyes or perms.  I get streaks once a year or every other year but I don't regularly dye and I haven't permed my hair in over 8 years and don't think I ever will again.  I just don't like the style hassle.

Long Asian hair is very beautiful and the Asian ladies who sport it are very beautiful too 8-)

Yeah my hair is frizzy sometimes - so I just put products on it (and it straightens out any waves too). I like Farouk  BioSilk and Fekkai Glossing cream best so far. I really think products do help a lot with the way hair looks (especially if it isn't the way you wish it to be).

But are there more heat and humid friendly hairtypes?!
