How do you post a picture for your avatar?  

If you have your own picture that you would like to use for your avatar, it can be specified in your profile.  The picture must be hosted on the internet for this to work.  

To add your picture, click on "Profile" at the top of the screen.  Towards the bottom of the screen you have the option of the screen, there is a flag for "I have my own pic".  Click on that and put the URL (internet location) of your photo.  The URL must also have a "picture/graphic" extension like .jpg for it to display as an avatar. (Sorry - that means that places like tinypic.com won't work).

Your photo will look best if it is a square picture.  If your picture is oblong, it will be "squished" into a square for display.  None of us like to look fat, so make sure your picture is not taller than it is wide!
