Title: Does anyone make their own shampoo/conditioner?
Post by leia on Jul 2nd, 2004 at 7:14am
I do! I use Indian herbs to make mine. I was my hair once a week, and every other week I will use herbs to wash. The other week I deep condition  ;)

Here is a link to an article I wrote a few months ago on how I use herbs and where to find them online: http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=278542&messageid=1079093499

In case anyone is interested!

I met someone who tried this, it's under "Friends Shampoo" but I'm not sure what board.  When I find it I'll post it here as well.

I also e-mailed my friend to find out her conditioner recipe:

-1 tablespoon vanilla extract
-3 tablespoons Winafirnds Moist Hair(y) Puree in Pumpkin Pie
-1 tablespoon Dr. Quinnies Wet Me Over Avocado Lotion in Sunday Tea

Oh, and if anyone is interested here is ANOTHER recipe for a weekly hair mask. I wonder how my friend Carri gets all this hair stuff done!
Hair Mask:
-2 cups Winafirnds Moist Hair(y) Puree in Candy Apple
-1/8 cup vitamin E oil
-one packet It's My Do Clay Hair Mask for Dry/Normal Hair
-Expanda's Soft n' Full Jelly in _______
this comes in Paint the Sky Red, Browny Towny, Blonde Joke, Black is Back, and brings out natural highlights in your hair color.

Drummergirl, I've never heard of any of the brands you mention. Is there a web site where they can be ordered?

(I live in Europe)

Kate, Bed Head and Amore are found in salons and some Merle Norman stores.
I met my friend when she flew down from Canada for a band competition.  Maybe it's a Canadian thing? I have never heard of half of these brands either but then again I tend to stay on the computer or with my head buried in books!
Expanda can be found in local Walgreens.

Correction, I noticed that I posted Jackson & Stella's Sticky Icky Picky Crem'e as Picky Icky Sticky Crem'e, sorry it really is Sticky Icky Picky.

I also noticed I called my friend Carri and Carrie, the correct name is Carrie.
