Title: UK Hair Products Post by amysquie on Jun 27th, 2004 at 7:54pm
Hi I'm new here! My name is Amy and I'm from Southend, England. A lot of the products mentioned here are from the USA, so I just thought I'd ask if there are any great UK products that you guys would recommend for long wavy hair. Also, I don't know where I can get hair oil from! At the moment I'm interested in that 'Fructis strong and long' and 'John Frieda Brilliant Brunette' stuff but I haven't actually tried it. I usually use Herbal Essences clarifying s&c but I think I need something more moisturising.
Anyway I've just blabbed on a bit, but hello again and nice to meet you all :) lol |

Welcome! I'm not real familiar with the UK products, but I'm sure someone will pop in with a list.
The products you mentioned are heavy with -cones. Some people's hair cannot tolerated extended use of -cones without clarifying to remove the buildup. Just thought I'd throw that in. |

Hi!
I love "John Frieda Miracle Masque." I got it at a chemist I think. You can buy olive oil at the supermarket! |

i use Fructus Long and Strong and cos my hair likes cones...it works great...just use quite a bit of the conditioner. and cos of my cone lovin'...pantene also works great for me *dodges rotten vegetables* although many people dont like it. ;D
i get my jojoba oil from a health food shop (i think its GNC...or something) its quite expensive but lasts forever! itll be sold anywhere that sells aromatherapy oils. hope that helps! :) |

Yeah that does! Thanks. I have no idea whether my hair likes cones or not. Thanks for the GNC tip, I'll see if I can get some oil there since olive oil is not my cup of tea!

I got my jojoba oil from a little shop called 'spill the beans' in dorset. I know that's quite far from you but try looking for the hippiest looking health food shop and try there. And if they don't have it i'm they'll know someone that does. Also, if you're really desparate Boots do a jojoba shampoo and conditioner as well as the shower gel.
Hope that helps. |
