There's a story today on Yahoo-Germany about a 67 year old man from Vietnam,who is hoping for an entry in the Guiness Book of Records for his 6,2 meters of hair :o
It says he has been growing it for 32 years (no trims ;D ) and last washed it 6 years ago.
So that's a valid point against frequent washing ;)

My hair would be reaaallly smelly if I didn't wash for so long :P

Oh boy mine too, mine gets pongy after 3 days or so! Just think of all the things he could hide in his updos!!

Oy, I wonder what happens to him at airport security. Normally, Vietnamese people don't go for those really really extreme lengths.

I saw something like that a while ago. One of those guys said he washes his hair in dishwashing liquid. It IS long but dry looking.

I posted about a similiar chinese dude who has like 29 feet of hair. I couldn't stand not washing it for 1 week much less 6 years.

ugh ... makes me think of my brother when he couldn't wash his hair during three months after putting dreads (and they even told him six months would be better!). i couldn't stand him too close to me ... bah!
he was telling me stories about people who cut their very long dreadlocks which had strangely coagulated and a whole bunch of bugs came out (dead and alive ... yummy).

no man, i deffo prefer women with long hair cuze most of those men just seem to have long hair out of pure laziness.
