Does the texture of hair change when it goes grey? And, after hair goes grey, is it still "healthy"?

My grey hair is NOTHING like the rest of my hair. It is much more course and is curlier than my regular hair. The grey hair is still healthy, just different.

Mum's hair is coarser and curlier than the rest of her hair, too. It's still very healthy!

My silver strands were as fine and silky-straight as the natural dark brown ones were when I dyed my hair auburn.
