Title: question about gloves & hair Post by flaming_bunny on May 23rd, 2004 at 2:57pm
yesterday i was 'diagnosed' with dermatitis on my hands (basically the skin on my hands is sensitive to detergents and all the stuff i use at college and as a results becomes hard and comes off...ive already lost all the skin on my middle finger tip!) so now i have to wear latex gloves whilst washing my face and hair. could this be harmful to my hair? im concerned about the latex having a weird effect ....though its probably me being paranoid. if it could harm my hair, to be honest id put up with scabby hands as im not in any pain! strange priorities.... ::) ::)
any help/thoughts would be much appreciated! :) |

I don't know if latex could be specifically problematic for your hair, but I do know that a lot of people develop a sensitivity to latex gloves. If you want to be safe all around, I suggest you try using nitrile gloves instead. They don't cause any allergic reactions, work and feel very much like latex, and come in a gorgeous purple color, LOL! I use them all the time when I am doing especially messy LongLocks stuff in the studio.
