Title: Shape??
Post by Anne-Marie on May 8th, 2004 at 5:45pm
For the past years I've always cut the ends of my hair straight across-very neat&blunt.I always thought this looked best for my fine hair.
But I've seen several women over the last few weeks who had their ends in the natural ' V' shape, and it looked great. So,I'm beginning to wonder if I should let get my hair into the V-Shape. ???
What do all of you prefer:

V -Shape,blunt ends or U-Shape?Do you think it depends on hair type? I'm really curious ;D

i have fine hair aswell and when my hair was in the natural v-shape, the ends were scraggly and it didnt look nice at all! now i cut straight across but i have thinner hair at the bottom so it doesnt look very blunt. a nice round u-shape is very flattering though...im just cutting mine straight across until the majority of my hair catches up to the longest bits!  ::)
in my opinion...you cant go wrong with a U  ;)  but if your hair looks good blunt, i'd stick with it  :)

Yes,that's exactly what I was wondering about! On the other hand,I think that the V-Shape somehow makes the hair look longer ??? The women I am referring to had around waistlength hair and I felt it looked longer than my past classic-length hair (Well,I'm not sure if that makes sense now ??? )

The V shape makes it harder for me to dust for split ends...there's a lot more varying length. but I guess when hair gets past midback, self-trimming will be easier.

Personally, I usually do not care for the v shape on most ladies.  that is not to say that it never looks nice, sometimes it does-for the most part though it seems to make the ends look thin.  i would prefer to have the ends look thick and healthy than a little longer but thin.

I think the v-shape looks nice from bsl to mid-back, at least on other people, but straight across looks better for waist length or longer.

The only end shape I've ever had is even.

Thanks for your thoughts on shape-Yes,I think it will be easir to maintain if I keep my blunt ends :) :)
I have taken some new pics of my hair from the back,as soon as the film is developed,I'll post them here (I'm one of the few people who haven't got a digital camera yet ;D)

I would agree.  The longer the hair gets, the better the blunt cut looks.  The ""U" or "V" shapes look nicer on shorter hair.
