Title: Sharing a style: Chinese bun Post by leia on Oct 16th, 2003 at 9:16am
Start by putting your hair in a ponytail. Then put a hairstick in horizontally between the scalp and the ponytail holder. Divide the ponytail into two parts and put them over the hairstick and then under again. Cross them over and wrap around the ponytail holder. Then secure with a scrunchie or bobby pins. A scrunchie holds better for me, but I find the bobby pin look to look better.

Very interesting bun. I don't usually put my hair into a ponytail (too much breakage), I wonder if it can be done without tieing off the hair first?

It's worth a try, Bikerbraid! I don't usually ponytail unless it's with a scrunchie, but I have heard that ponytail holders made out of hose work really well. It hasn't worked for me because it just stretches out, but maybe for you? I've heard they slide straight out without any breakage :).
Anyway, I hope it works for you, it's an interesting and unique style! |
